2. Temporary Partner Visa (Subclass 820)

  • Visa permits you to stay in Australia for nine months
  • You can get married in Australia
  • You can upgrade later to a Temporary Partner Visa subclass 820 visa.

  • If you’re engaged to one of the following: Australian national, Australian permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen.
  • If you’re in a de facto relationship you have to have been together for a minimum of 12 months
  • You intend to tie the knot with the person you love within nine months of your arrival in Australia
